Hey peeps, here’s all the new status and element icons I’ve made for EBF5.
All of the status effects have been implemented now – there’s quite a lot of new ones. I won’t spoil them all, I’ll just let you guess what they are from the icons. I think many of the new effects are really interesting.
I haven’t made the resistance system any more complicated – there’s still only 12 status resistance types. Similar effects like Wet and Dry are grouped together now.
Confusion one looks hilarious.
I assume the elemental symbols might mean there could be spells that temporarily modify said resistances.
Maybe they decrease/increase the chance of the additional effects of your attacks occurring and/or increase/decrease the chance of the additional effects of the enemies' attacks(respectively) from ocurring?
As for the second, third and sixth icons in the first row...are they like poison, except with another element? So the second icon is dark damage every turn, the third one is light or electric damage(I can't really tell, it might be some completely different status entirely) every turn, the sixth one is ice damage every turn...
The fifth icon...a snowflake and a chunk of ice? Is it that if you don't get rid of the staus within a turn limit, the character is inflicted with frozen 'cause they're slowly getting frozen solid?
And the two slime icons(assuming they are slimes) the first one...It looks like an oil slime to me, so maybe its that you get turned into an oil slime and if you get hit by a fire or bomb attack you'll combust/blow up and instantly die? The second one may be the regular slime status, though it looks...shiny and golden. I said "assuming" earlier because maybe the characters don't get turned into slimes, rather, they get coated in oil or get encased in gold.
Crosshair must be mentioned "Focused", making foes attack that one character.
Berzerk, syphon, dispell and a dozen of other old effects are well known, I assume.
Broken bone and pentagram might be new icons for Weakness and Cursed.
What troubles me is… what is 6th icon in 2nd row, a tire? Jumping to conclusions, but… a tire for "tired" effect? That's interesting, especially if some mechanical boss uses an actual tire that causes "tired" effect.
Question mark can actually mean that in fifth game Matt is dumb enough to hit himself in his confusion. Virus may be a contagious version of poison.
Wonder, what "no eating" sign means, maybe literally cannot use consumables, while opposite is bonus to consumables' effect. Btw, i think fork should be behind the prohibition sign, otherwise it may seem not as "fork is prohibited", but as "prohibition is forked". Of course, common sense easily fixes it anyway, but still.
"Must-be-charmed", "Must-be-haste", "Must-be-fortune", "Must-be-jinxed", second slime, arrows and blue flash evade me completely so far.
It's Matt's worst nightmare!
would be funny to see something where an enemy or player would be forced to dance and being unable to do anything in a turn or two, but i reckon that would be quite annoying to do. still, i'm excited to see all these new ones
